Hi I'm Samantha and I have Misophonia

What's Misophonia? Well, thanks for asking!

"Misophonia sufferers typically have strong negative emotional reactions, ranging from annoyance to extreme rage, to a variety of sounds--frequently associated with mouth and nasal sounds such as chewing, slurping or breathing"

Sad about my problem/duck face

Okay, I would say mine is less extreme. I hate when people bite their forks . Like hate as in will leave the restraunant as soon as possible or say to my friend "Sorry, the sound really hurts my ears". I'm not sure if that's what the sound does cause my ears don't hurt it just really bothers me.. and I make a face certain face!

I guess sometimes I probably run away!

So when Scott and I are dining out he will see that and look around to see who is using their silverware poorly!

I'm self-diagnosed per tweet. Yes, that's right I saw this from a tweet and after investigating I confirmed! Don't worry I don't have the extreme range.. not yet anyway!

Hope you still love me!

Oh my, I totally have it too. I heard about this a few months ago and thought "that sounds just like me!" I have moved tables before due to sitting near people who were chewing extremely loud with their mouth open. Not sure what exactly it is about it, but it really irks me lol. =)

I have to admit.. I'm a fork-biter. I think it stems from my paranoid of having food on my face therefore I use my teeth to make sure it's all off my fork! Haha, I don't realize I do it all until someone points it out to me!

I self diagnosed myself a few months ago haha! I literally cringe and scrunch up my face when I hear someone chew with their mouth open, bite their fork, breath excessively loud, or another number of things. Glad I'm not the only one!

my boyfriend and I have talked about this a lot recently. Because I flip the hell out when it comes to mouth noises. biting forks doesn't bother me but the sound of smacking or little mouth noises send me over the edge. and now I seem like a crazy lady ... oops.
